Shiraz Boghani of Harrow, United Kingdom, started out his professional career as a chartered accountant. He strongly desired to enter the hospitality industry, though, and in the early 1990s he launched his first hotel. His company, Splendid Hospitality Group, now owns and operates several hotels including the Hilton London Bankside, Vanbrugh House Hotel, Holiday Inn Wembley, and Mercure Bristol Brigstow Hotel.
When he first started out in the hospitality industry he specialized in limited services brands like Holiday Inn. Shiraz Boghani is considered to be one of the pioneers in these types of hotels in the United Kingdom. Since that time he has added a number of luxury hotels to his portfolio such as The Grand Hotel & Spa York. His success as a hotel owner led to him being named as the Hotelier of the Year at the 2016 Asian Business Awards.

Shiraz Boghani branched out into healthcare in 2008. Along with a business partner, he established Sussex Healthcare. This company operates a network of assisted living homes in the county of Sussex. The homes are occupied by elderly people as well as adults who cannot care for themselves due to reasons like brain injuries or MPLD (Multiple Profound Learning Disabilities). He also recently had a gym and pool completed where the residents can enjoy a workout or relaxing in the spacious hot tub.
An example of one of Shiraz Boghani’s assisted living facilities is Clemsfold House. This home, about three miles outside of Horsham, has enough space for 30 residents. This home is occupied by elderly people, including couples. They also specialize in helping people with dementia at this home and have a team of specialists who work with them.
Shiraz Boghani is also a philanthropist who has been a supporter of the Aga Khan Development Foundation for the past few decades. This is an organization which supports people of Muslim faith and educates people about this religion. They are active in the poorest parts of Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Their goal is to come up with answers for illiteracy, poverty, and hunger.
